The rebate program is a scam. I can't submit online or get anyone on the phone.

I think I will return the product. My next complaint goes to the FTC.

Misleading Packaging

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Alcon - Misleading Packaging

Injecting air into GenTeal Tears and Systane Lubricant Eye Gel tubes. This new technique allows the tube size to remain constant, similar to older versions, while at the same time reducing the amount of usable material placed within the tube.

Material shrinkage combined with increased product pricing maintains, and in some instances, increases profitability while maintaining consumer acceptance. The opinion here is that this practice is designed to intentionally mislead consumers, and that packaging should be redesigned to match consumer expectations versus product cost.

Rebate

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

I submitted the claim for the rebate within the 60-day period. It seems like it wasn't loading in their system, so I resubmitted the claim and contacted customer services for support.

I didn't receive much help other than the mail-in option, and it was well past the 60-day period. It seems like the rebate is more of a scam than anything else.

I made the purchase of over a years worth of contacts for the rebate deal. It was incredibly expensive, but they had offered $200 worth of a gift card once you applied and submitted all the necessary information.

I sent in my information and they said it would take about 6 weeks for it to process, but I didn't receive any notification. I had to go back and sign in and go through their entire website to find out that I was denied, although I was told all my information is sufficient and satisfactory. The website did not give a specific reason as to why I was declined, and I began to think that I probably would never be notified and it was good for me to do the extra unnecessary work to return to their confusing and unclear website.

I had never received an email saying that I was declined, and did not have any explanation. And because of the long processing and lack of communication, I cannot resubmit the claim again because it is past their required date of submission.

Had I known that this business is unreliable as what i'm seeing in the reviews, I would have not made that years worth of contacts, and I expect that a business would have much better customer service and clear information and communication so that people are not being taken advantage of.

Compromised Card- Charged Replacement Fee

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

My virtual card was compromised, resulting in two fraudulent charges. When I reached out to customer service, they charged me $12.95 to replace the VIRTUAL card number and then, after the fact, informed me I would need to dispute the charges to get the money back.

How do you dispute charges with Alcon? You have to print out a two-page form, fill it out, and mail it in... in 2024!

I find it VERY interesting and, unfortunately, not at all surprising that they would make it so inconvenient and nearly impossible for you to get your money back. SHAME!

Deserving of zero stars

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

I recently switched to Alcon Total 30 contacts due to visiting a new eye doctor who recommended this brand. There was a possible rebate of $100 that convinced me to purchase a year's worth of contacts when I typically only purchase six months at a time.

Upon making the switch, I quickly came to realize that I had made the wrong decision. These contacts are of terrible quality, blurred easily, and ripped very quickly. I ran through several months' worth of contacts in just a few weeks. What a waste of money!

Not to mention, they sent a rebate card that expired shortly after I received it. I tried using it four days after the expiration date only to find out it was no longer valid. I reached out to customer support. They didn't respond to the first email.

Then, after my second attempt via email, it took over two weeks of going back and forth for them to say my card had expired and any unused funds were forfeited. So, all in all, terrible quality and terrible customer service.

Do yourself a favor and don't waste your money. Go with another brand!

What kind of an idiot would buy a year's worth of contact sight (no pun intended)? Please tell us you at least did a week's worth of trial lenses and those were good.

If not, you're a fool. Enjoy your new contacts.

Clearly out to take your money

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

I followed all of the directions to receive my rebate as a physical card because the option to receive it as an email simply did not work, repeatedly. I didnt read the fine print however and assumed it operated as a gift card (legally cannot expire).

When I realized the card had expired after only an few months, I reached out. There is a truly suspicious number of phone numbers associated with the company and once you actually do get a rep on the phone theyre totally useless. I had to repeat my personal information 6 times for one of them only to have him try to tell me there was nobody above him who could help.

Basically we have your money and the card agreement says its ours now. Gross.

My rebate went expired because I must have missed the email to claim the 75$ Visa Card. I called and explained my situation and they were not understanding. So I lost out on my rebate.

Scammed Using Alcon QR Code

Using an Alcon Savings Card my ophthalmologist gave me, I used the QR code to activate my card. It connected to the Alcon member.mediabundle.com site.

When I clicked start, it took me to a page that asked for my credit card info which I did enter. Long story short, I was assessed a charge. Why did I give a credit card info? Well, it is common that when you get an account with companies that sell products, like Amazon and Netflix, you provide a credit card.

I thought I was still on the Alcon site; after all, I was directed there using the QR Code on an Alcon savings card. But, I was scammed. However, that is not why I am so pissed.

After talking to my credit card company who contacted me about the charge, I called the Alcon Customer Service. I tried to explain to the person what happened and all she kept saying was, "Well, you been scammed.

What do you want me to do?" Before I could tell her, she would repeat the same thing.

Then she hung up on me.

Alcon, is that how you treat a customer who pays you up to $350 for Rhopressa and a little less for Simbrinza.Well, I will be talking to my specialist to prescribe an alternate drug by a competitor. But, hey, you don't really care, do you?

Garbage Company

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

First off, I'd give zero stars if I could. Way to go Alcon!

Your greed and *** business has officially convinced me to go ahead with lasik surgery. You discontinued the daily aqua comfort plus contacts, why? Your new comparable product is a joke and if I had to guess - cheaper to make on your end - precision1 dailies are not comparable and shouldn't be priced the same. Clearly you are hoping more ppl will pay even more for the new total1 contacts.

Nice marketing plan - Go *** yourself.

Precision1 contacts dry out more easily and take forever to fall into place/ fall out of place easily. Low class company with low grade products priced steeply for the sake of the bottom line.

Never did get thru to anyone person or robot to give my complaint.

I hate the new bottles of Sustane as they are almost impossible to get to drip. R and D needs to rethink these as I can barely squeeze hard enough to get a drip into my eye.
